Summer Vacation Part 6: Birthday Part 1

When brainstorming with Yia Yia about what Caleb might want for his birthday, I could really only think of one thing: a tent. So, the day before we left Yia Yia's and Papou's, we went to REI and picked one out. Chaos ensued.

There were no more pictures because it was crazy. Trying to pick out a forever tent with two little ones trying to dismantle the tent department is a disaster. Caleb also tried out the sleeping bags and settled on a light green one with purple flowers and swirls on the inside. Thank god we live in Northern California.

Then, we went home, napped, decompressed, and got ready for birthday dinner.

Summer Vacation Part 5: The Playground

A break in the (somewhat) foul weather let us escape to the great outdoors, where we only had to share this awesome playground with ducks.

Then we came home and Bug worked on her poses.

Summer Vacation Part 4: Capitol Hill

After a delicious hipster brunch at the Oddfellows Cafe with lovely company, we hit Cal Anderson Park where Caleb made a couple friends and both kids hit the fountain.

Summer Vacation Part 3: Ice Cream

After dinner, we hopped on the boat and headed for Kirkland to get Ice Cream. This was Zoe's first ice cream cone, so she went with a waffle cone and "green" (Mint Chocolate Chip). Caleb opted for Cookies 'n Cream.

Summer Vacation Part 2: Nostalgia and Water

The Seattle Aquarium. Never disappoints. We hadn't been since Bug was a baby, so it was fun to see her high-five the SCUBA diver and poke the sea stars.
