what else is there when you have a train set?

With the fabulous conductor hat that Papou got him at the Tilden Park steam train (yes, he went again), Caleb shows off his mother's transportation design.

trains

For Zoe's one week birthday, she got Caleb a train set for being such a good big brother. Then, when Papou and Uncle Nick came, they brought Luke's old train set from when he was a kid. Caleb, Luke, and Nick then combined the railways to make one big wooden train track - complete with draw bridge, ferry, excavator (from Grandma Lila), and road.

I'm a Big Brother!

Giving us the scare of our lives, Zoe arrived with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck six times with a knot in it. All of the acrobatics that she was doing inside landed us all in trouble. Under stress, she aspirated some meconium which has led to further stress and breathing problems. Luckily, she has a great deal of fight in her and was born right down the hall from an amazing NICU. Since Wednesday she has made an incredible improvement, wowing all of the nurses and doctors. Luke and I are exhausted and overwhelmed, but unbelievably grateful. There is no indication that there should be any long term problems once we get her all the way healthy. She already has a pretty good appetite and a lot of spunk. At this point, every day is bringing good news and she should be home with us early this week.

More Train!

Grandma Lila came to be on hand for the upcoming birth of Caleb's little sister. We took some time to show her a bit of Tilden Park and the little train.

not so little

We were unearthing baby stuff and came across the old changing pad. Caleb remembered what to do. This is proof of how much growth has occurred in two years...
