Birthday Parties.

I feel like this was our first real-deal birthday party. There was cake and presents and the sort... but there was also... a BOUNCY HOUSE. No pictures of bouncing because they all turned out blurry from all the fun. It was fantastic. Happy Birthday, Lucy! Hope 2 treats you well...

peaches

Here's Baby Zoe eating her first solid food - peaches. Does she look excited? 'Cause she's not.

in absentia

Not a lot of excitement... just dreary days with a few chances of park outings.

recovery

Oh! this month has been the biggest bummer. Two+ weeks of sickness. RSV invaded our house and our lungs. First Caleb: it crept into his body and turned into pneumonia... luckily for us and him, the albuterol/amoxycilin kicked it out and he recovered fairly quickly. However, it passed to Zoe and in her little lungs, it became more serious and led to a hospital stay for observation due to her very (very!) fast respiration rate. And Henry threw in a stomach virus and his own trip to the pet ER in the middle of all this just for good measure. We are exhausted, but recovering. Here's (half of) what keeps us going:

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

We went to the boardwalk in Santa Cruz after leaving Capitola, before heading back home to Oakland. We got there right when it opened, so there weren't a lot of people and we got one of the first helicopter rides of the day. After that, it was all downhill... He loved riding in the helicopter and he was so proud of himself for doing it all by himself. He thought he wanted to go on a spinny ride, but at the last minute, he changed his mind. He car ride looked innocent enough, but turned out to be jerky and too fast going around the corners. Luckily, they stopped it early for him so he could get off. After that, he rode with a couple times on the merry-go-round, but wasn't really into it. Poor guy.
