Chaos at Monterey Bay

We were all completely overwhelmed by the size, crowds and exhibits of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We lucked out with beautiful weather when they had predicted rain and we showed up just in time for the penguin feeding. Caleb was more interested in all of the interactive exhibits than the fish... lots of button pushing. I'd make a comment about how much like his father he is, but Luke loves sea life, so...

Beach in December?! Sure.

Daddy's Christmas present was a game that he could play with Caleb. They have been playing nonstop since Luke introduced it to Caleb.

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

This Christmas has been so much fun. Although its Caleb's third Christmas, its the first that he has really participated in. He chose an ornament for the tree by himself, he greeted the Christmas tree every morning with fervor, he pointed out the lights in the windows that we passed in the car while singing Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ("sing it, mama, sing it!). We read Christmas books and decorated the house. I have discovered, again, how much fun Christmas can be.

Santa Claus came to Oakland

Caleb woke up excited and ready for the day. He came into our room, as usual, and when we reminded him that it was Christmas, he wished a Merry Christmas! I told him that I saw Santa Claus stop by the night before, and he got dressed quicker than ever before.
