Swimming
Today, the weather was nice and we had nothing planned so we went swimming as a family. We ended the evening with mexican food, which Caleb loves, and then to bed! (we are

Cafe Cacao
We met Emily and Dan at Scharffen Berger's factory restaurant for a little lunch. Caleb had his very own grilled cheese sandwich. He offered to share it with the waitress (by trying to feed her a piece) but she said he was to young for her. Its pretty cool that last year Caleb couldn't eat solid food and now we're ordering off the menu for him. Crazy! I'm sure we'll be back as its two blocks from Caleb's new school, the food was tasty and they have a mini-table outside which C was almost big enough for.

New Classroom!
Luke says to me: "Now that Caleb is going to preschool, I feel like we've succeeded. We're finished with our job and ready to start on the next one." Whereas I don't quite agree that we are finished with our job as parents or that we are ready to start on the next one, I do think it is very exciting that Caleb is starting preschool at Pixar's new campus in south Berkeley. We went and visited and met his teacher, Natalie, and checked out his classroom. He felt immediately comfortable and was quickly pulling things off the shelf, chewing on them and moving on to the next thing. He loved that the furniture was all Caleb-size and that there were windows at baby level. He begins September 2nd and we are all thrilled.

New spot
Caleb has been exploring a lot recently, and considering how small our house is, he has to get innovative. Here he is sitting on the window sill behind the couch.

Day After
We rushed to the ferry, but we made it. We headed to the morning-after brunch hosted in the beautiful home of Emily's aunt, Mabry.

Wedding!
It rained all through the (very emotional) ceremony but cleared up in time for the party afterward. Caleb looked handsome in his party attire and played with all sorts of family members and new people until he fell asleep around 9:00 (when mom and dad really began to party). Everyone had a wonderful time and we felt lucky to have such wonderful people in our family. Ben was hoping to get Caleb to walk on Emily's wedding day, but despite his best efforts, it didn't quite happen. (Top picture is Rena with Gary the snail.)

Seabold Hall, Bainbridge
We were on our way to Seattle, more specifically Bainbridge Island, for Emily and Dan's wedding. The night that we arrived, there was a dinner and we got to meet some new second cousins and catch up with people we haven't seen for a long time. Caleb loved having other kids around to play, especially big kids who were so nice to him.
