A Video Only a Grandma (or Yia Yia) Could Sit Through

Wonderful Sunday Morning

This, I suppose, is what I am often most Thankful for-silly, yummy, Sunday mornings. Zoe finally has some real chubbers; Caleb helped me make an apple galette from all of the apples we had around and the left over pie dough; lots of giggles; brilliant sunshine.

Elise!

Thankfully, after our bummer Thanksgiving, we got to finally meet Elise, Chris and Melodi's daughter who was born in June. We had a wonderful pancake breakfast together and it was fun for the girls to meet and to watch Caleb interact with an older baby.

Thanksgiving... disaster

A boy who hasn't been feeling well all week + Two parents who haven't really been feeling great all week + That boy being an energetic, impatient boy + Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant where he has to sit still = DISASTER

We were in and out in 50 minutes. No joke.

Happy Thanksgiving

Octavia

Great Aunt Octavia was in town to celebrate Thanksgiving. Wednesday, the Bay Area Zulaufs met for lunch and Zoe time (except for Caleb who was at school).

Criss-Cross, Applesauce

Caleb has been sharing with us what he learns at daycare. All of a sudden he'll come home with a new favorite song (Bah, Bah, Blacksheep most recently) or he'll instruct to sit for circle time. Here, he is demonstrating how to sit "criss-cross applesauce." Its hard keeping up these days.

Fruits of our labor

Zoe came out very small and we've been working hard to catch her weight up to super long length. Today, we finally saw some concrete evidence that its paying off at the doctor's office when she weighed in at almost 11lbs. Yay! Everything else is going great, too-she's smiling and cooing and gurgling. So much fun.

Halloween at Pixar

So much chaos and so much fun. Everyone did great, in part because we had a 2:1 ratio of Erin, Luke, Grandma Lila and Emily to Caleb and Zoe. Many of Caleb's school friends were there and there was a lot of action.
