How hot is it?

Maybe you have heard of the heat wave we are experiencing? Maybe you are experiencing it right now, also?  Well, besides our one little fan that we are moving around the house as needed, the one thing keeping us cool is the little pool we borrowed from our neighbor. Don't worry, there was plenty of sunscreen involved.

So many books...

C is becoming more and more into books.  Before, they weren't able to keep his attention, now he is asking for them.  And he has his favorites... which means there are now around 5-8 books we practically have memorized.

DeYoung

We saw a horrible exhibition, but we enjoyed our lunch and walk around the building at the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. We followed it up with a drive through the park, up to the Presidio and then dinner at Delucchi's with dad in North Beach.

Across the Golden Gate to Muir Woods for a hike up the Lost trail and down the Ocean View trail. Afterwards, we took a drive down California One to Stinson Beach where Olivia and Caleb saw the Specific Ocean for the first time.

Olivia!

Olivia came and is visiting and on our first day out we went to see the Pan American Unity mural by Diego Rivera. Then, we went to the mission which may be the oldest building in San Francisco and is five days older than our country. We had a wonderful lunch at Tartine where I had the pureed carrots, but the ladies had magical sandwiches made on their rustic bread and split chocolate hazelnut and lemon tarts. They were nice enough to bring home a brownie for dad.
